WBOPDC thrilled with digidocs!

Over the last few years there has been increasing requirements (both legislative and community driven) for local authorities to consult with the communities they serve.

Traditionally the basis of this consultation has been largely print centric. This approach carries significant cost - e.g. print - whether advertising or direct mail.

With our survey metrics (communication audits, annual resident survey) showing an increase in web uptake and an ongoing desire from ratepayers to contain or reduce costs yet still consult with them effectively we looked to a tool that could (a) give us the flexibility to retain the look and feel of large print documents with high design values in a web format i.e we did not want sacrifice the design values that underpinned council’s brand or ‘face’ to the community and just post a boring PDF. (b) provide the visitor with a range of options to view and use the document - searchable, dynamic (e.g. page turning functionality).

Digidocs has done this for us - the direct and immediate result is...
A more web centric approach to consultation on major planning exercises e.g. the Long Term Plan.

We’ve retained the design integrity of the printed material online, provided a more dynamic environment for the visitor to view and use the document, halved the print costs associated with producing a 350 page document.”
